When you're designing your website there are some basic rules you will want to follow in order to make your site appealing to the general public as well as the search engines. We call this in the business user and search engine friendly. This has to be a calculated balance of information so your site will be recognized by both the consumer and the search engines.

Users may be impressed with the pictures and flash of your site and enjoy some humorous quotes you've included, however, the search engine don't recognize flash and pictures or sayings that is not relative to your site content. The search engines are interested in good well written keyword specific relative content only. You must keep in mind here that first of all you must be recognized by the search engines to get listed on the internet. Without the search engines help, no one will ever see your site. The information we want to share with you today is how can we achieve this critical balance.

If your site URL is embedded in JavaScript, most search engines will not recognize or index your web pages. By making some basic changes in your source code of your site, you can make a major difference in the acceptance or rejection of the search engines. There are a couple of other small additions to this process that we will be discussing in some upcoming articles….so stay tuned.

What to Look For in an Email List Management System

If you do business through permission based email marketing, your list management tool can be an important part of your success. Or it can hurt sales, reduce your credibility, result in wasted time and frustration, and worse. The one you select will have a big impact on your results - positively or negatively.

You have three types of list management tools to choose from:

1) Desktop software: Installed on your own computer, with emails sent through your ISP.

2) Self-hosted list management: A “stand-alone” script or software is installed on your own web server.

3) List hosting services: All areas of list management are outsourced.

Let's look at some pros and cons of these options.

Email Deliverability Problems

Deliverability is a crucial component of successful email list management. Obviously, subscribers who don't receive your emails can't act on them. Problem is, sending mass emails without professional systems and expertise can hurt email delivery rates, in multiple ways.

To maintain higher delivery rates, you should work with major ISPs and blacklists to stay on their good side (”whitelisted”) and keep your messages from being blocked (”blacklisted”). And list management systems should be designed and updated in line with current legislation and technological advances related to email delivery.

With do-it-yourself list management solutions, you have to deal with all deliverability problems and updates in-house.

Dealing with Spam Complaints

Even if all your lists are confirmed (double) opt-in, occasional spam complaints can occur.

When you manage your own lists, dealing with spam complaints falls on you, even if only to prove they're false. With outsourced list management tools, professionals can handle these sensitive issues on your behalf.

By building relationships with your customers, you stand a much better chance of retaining that customer for life, and isn't that better than a one time sale to a person you'll never see again?

1. Contests: Holding a contest is a great way to market your business as a fun place, whether you're a party planner or a dentist. Issue a press release to get the community involved, and you'll not only earn new customers, but you'll rediscover old ones as well.

2. Newsletters: Sending out a newsletter periodically is simply a way of keeping your businesses name in front of your clients. Slipping Into The Dark

We're preparing for a weekend family getaway. By vacation I imply just going to my aunts 50th wedding anniversary. Months have passed by since I last gone to our home in Leeds. The last time I was there was last Christmas and I just stayed on there for nearly a week. My mum would constantly bid us farewell with a heavy heart hugging her grandkids so tight and would choke back a tear as she closes the car door. I reckon, however, that even though my mom tries to act as if everything's okay but in fact she does have a heavy heart towards me for not being able to have my kids, her grandchildren, visit them frequently. You know how grandparents are with their grandbabies.

Anyhow, all of the youngsters stuff were ready for the journey. My better half had come home from the office at the earliest feasible time to help with loading all the things that we are going to bring in the automobile. He's a particular guy which is what I adore about him. He could not live without his laptop and will invariably take work with him whatever the circumstance. So I completed folding our clothes up and set it in our baggage. I was about to get ready for bed and call it a night when he asked me if I have already prepared all the electronic devices that we would bring such as the camera, palm organizer, Mp3 player, mobile phone and the likes. And I told him, I only require one thing and that is my Motorola RAZR2 V8 Dark Pearl Mobile Phone. This phone is an ideal travel companion because it holds everything in it.
